OK the screw thing has come up on several discussions before, and while this page may not be the definitive proof, it does carry some weight As I know the history of these from WW2 on. These 3 Halftracks were purchased by the same farmer from the same Military base at the same time, shortly after WW2. Talking to the farmers son, all they did was remove the usual armor on them and use them till they found other things that would work better. Then parked them. Believe me, they were not restored, or taken apart, and redone. As stated I purchased 2. The International is still there under the shed. He wants WAY too much for it. Here is what the photos show. The Autocar, just like the Autocar Book shows that the slots are turned anywhere. However, the Diamond T and International have all the screws lined up. So I guess it is just up to the Manufacturer.. I'd like to expand this photo essay, so if anyone has photos of a untouched White halftrack, how about sending me some photos of them. Or if you have photos of untouched Autocar, Diamond T or International that is different or more of the same, send them my way and I'll post them. This is the Autocar....
This is the Diamond T
This is the International
